Labour Relations & Social Dialogue

2nd – 6th September 2024 – Rotterdam

One of the many challenges facing developing nations is that of need to adjust their economic and social systems in view of the process of globalization.

This process cannot be managed equitable and efficiently without social dialogue among the main stakeholders. In some countries, freedom of association is still not fully guaranteed and in many others, labour union density has decreased and industrial relations institutions have weakened.

The emerging pattern of more complex and flexible types of employment has loosened many social ties and widened the disparities between the formal and informal economies. Economic prosperity and social progress cannot be achieved by governments and employers of labour acting in isolation.

This course seeks to develop consensus building and democratic involvement among main stakeholders in key aspects relating to the world of work.
